1. Ephesians
5:30-32 – a
great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and his church
What is the mystery of Christ and his church? How
do we become members of his body? Are you joined to Christ Jesus?
2. Ist Corinthians 6:15-17 – your bodies are the members of Christ
What is being one spirit with Jesus? How does the spirit of the world
try to get you to separate from the oneness of spirit with Jesus?
3. John 17:20-26 – may be one in us
What do you understand of the heart of Jesus for you to be one with him?
Which is easier, oneness of being with Jesus and the Father or oneness
of being with your spouse? At this point in your life have you accomplished
either one?
4. Ephesians 5:22 – wives submit yourselves
Do you ever argue with Jesus concerning
submitting to his authority? On a scale of 1-10 (1 being perfect
in total submission)
how would you rate
yourself at the stage of spiritual growth that you are
at right now? What relationship do you rate yourself the highest
in submission
to authority – relationship
with Jesus, relationship with your spouse, relationship with
your Pastor?
5. Ephesians 5:23 – Christ is the head of the church
Head – Master,
Owner, supreme in authority
Do you seek Christ’s counsel before you make a decision? Have you
conquered the pride of making your own decisions in your life without seeking
Jesus’ input? How hard is it to put on humility to obey the Lord’s
direction for your life? direction and advice from your spouse?

6. Ephesians 5:25 – Christ also loved the
church
Describe to each other the love that Jesus shows to you each day. Is this
love mutual or one-sided?
7. Ephesians 5:26 – he might
sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word
Sanctify – to
separate from profane things and dedicate to God
Cleanse – to make clean from the defilement
of sin, to purify
To be one with Jesus is to let him wash us with the Word. What is your
schedule to bathe in the Word to get clean from the spirit of the world?
When the Word demands a change in your way of thinking or lifestyle do
you comply eagerly to stay in oneness with Jesus?
8. Ephesians 5:27 – that he
might present it to himself a glorious church
What do you do to stay holy and without blemish for Jesus? For your spouse?
Is it a concern to you what Jesus thinks of you? Your spouse thinks of
you?
9. Ephesians 5:29 – but nourisheth
and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church
Nourisheth – to feed, to bring
to maturity
Cherisheth – to care for, keep warm
with tender care
How do you express “thanks” for Jesus and the way that he
cares for you? Do you express “thanks” to your
spouse as well?
10. Ephesians 5:33 – the
wife see that she reverence her husband
Reverence – to
hold in high esteem, honor, reverential obedience
Describe the ways that you reverence
Jesus to stay in oneness with him. Your spouse? Is oneness
with Jesus
important
to you? Your spouse? Can one
retain a “Jezebel spirit” and be in oneness
with Jesus?
