Spirit – influence
which fills and governs the soul of anyone, a movement of air, breath
1. lst Thess. 5:23 – spirit,
soul, and body
We are one person made up of three individual parts!
Each part must be continually fed and maintained.
2. lst Cor. 12:13 – one
Spirit are we all baptized into one body
The Holy Spirit has made us one in the body of Christ.
3. Ephesians 2:13 – 18 – Access
by one Spirit unto the Father
The Holy Spirit gives us the entrance and guides us to the throne
room of our heavenly Father. The Father has the answers for all of
married life.
4. Ephesians 4: 4- 6 – One
body and one Spirit
There is only one body and one Spirit in the family of the one true
God.
5. lst Cor. 6:17 – he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit
( joined – to glue together, cement, fasten together, cleave
to, join one’s self to )
John 4:24 tells us that God is Spirit and we must worship him in
spirit and in truth. Through being born again we start the process
of joining to the Lord in all areas of our lives and being in one spirit.
6. Philippians 1:27 – stand
fast in one spirit
Paul instructs the Philippians to be active in maintaining the “one
spirit.” This is equally true in marriage.
7. II Cor. 4:3-18 – same
spirit of faith
The word faith means belief and he was exhorting them to have the
same spirit in their belief system. The word obedience in serving the
Lord is paramount in the belief system or faith level for a marriage
to be successful.
8. 2nd Cor. 12:14 – 21 – walked
we not in the same spirit?
The Christian walk in marriage is the two becoming one and walking
in that same attitude of oneness in spirit as they follow the Lord
Jesus Christ.
