Pastor Edwin Maranan is originally from Quezon City, Philippines. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord when he graduated from high school in 1981. At a young age, he became a contract worker at Abu Dhabi in 1984, where he got involved in a church that eventually supported his Pastoral Education focused on Biblical Studies. He graduated at Penuel School of Theology in 1993 at West Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. Pastor Edwin was involved in the street kids’ ministry, organized crusades (Maricaban, Pasay City), conducted evangelistic outreaches to the children and youth in Quezon City from 1988 to 1993.
His background in ballet and ministerial training from the Young Adult Christian Fellowship of The Lord’s Assembly qualified him to teach the Young People in Christian Performing Arts such as drama, interpretative dance and pantomime. The Lord has double blessed Pastor Edwin in the Young Adults Dept where he met his lovely wife, Anne. Both of them joined the various local and provincial outreach and missions in the Philippines using their skills, talents and abilities God endowed to them. In 1993, Pastor Edwin became an Assistant Pastor at JESUS CHRIST OUR FIRM FOUNDATION in Mandaluyong.
After a year, he became the Senior Pastor for 10 years in the same church. God has blessed Anne with a job in Virginia, USA and a year later (July 2005), Pastor Edwin, along with their three children, joined her in Sterling Virginia. Once again, the Lord has been gracious to Pastor Edwin to have been ordained as a Youth Pastor at the International Baptist Church in Annandale. At a later time, God has opened another door of ministry as an Outreach Pastor for him at Victory Church.
Over the years, he has been involved in various mercy ministries such as ministering through music (playing guitar and piano) at the SOMMERSET ASSISTED LIVING leading Bible Studies at MONROE ASSISTED LIVING in Sterling and helping as one of the devotion leaders at local food bank in Centerville, Herndon. Pastor Edwin’s busy schedule did not keep him from ministering to his own family where he leads a Home Bible Study every Saturday evening. By God’s grace, they are very much involved as a family in their present church where his wife, Anne, is the Music Director of Victory and his children Jazzmin, Shad and Xyra are also involved in the Music Ministry (vocals and instruments) during the Sunday services.
